This January we will be discussing 1864: Lincoln at the Gates of History by Charles Bracelen Flood. This engaging and well researched book chronicles all aspects of Lincoln’s final full year of life, including his military struggles in the last year of the Civil War and fight for nomination and reelection Also, Booth’s plan of kidnapping, which evolved into murder. Pick up a copy at the front desk. We will meet at 7PM on Thursday, January 17th.
