Guest speaker Michael J. Kempton will be at the Hillsdale Library on Monday, January 23rd from 6:45-8:45pm. The lecture looks at the local legends in our state while looking at the true historical aspects behind them.

Meet Author Dana Cann

Gil and Mary Beth Ferko moved to Bergen County thinking they would lead a typical suburban life. But after a hit-and-run kills their infant daughter, Gil finds escape through heroin, and Mary Beth seeks solace in the companionship of a mysterious little girl. Years ago, Jen Yoder witnessed a man fall from a rooftop and chose to walk away. As mysteries and traumas start to collide, the characters must face the fine line between fate and happenstance. in Ghosts of Bergen County, Dana Cann’s tautly paced and intricately plotted debut, collective burdens manifest into hauntings.


Dana Cann will be discussing his book, The Ghosts of Bergen County at the Hillsdale Library on November 12th at 1pm.

Meet Author Kathleen Gerard


Local writer Kathleen Gerard will be here to discuss her latest book “the thing is” on Monday, October 17th at 7 pm. It is the story of a grieving woman whose life is changed by a therapy dog named Prozac!

Books will be available for purchase after the Q&A.

Meet the Author: Sean Miller

Sean is happy to be joined by New Hope pregnancy center as he introduces his new book, “Full of Life.” This book reflects the great work that places like New Hope quietly do in local communities. The book is meant to inspire others to reflect on how they can help women that are quietly struggling with fear as they seek to find the courage to do what is best for themselves and their baby. His book seeks to show that if people are open to the truth that they will always find “New Hope.”
